GISBORNE COACH ACCIDENT.

INQUEST ON THE VICTIMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Sept. 15. At the inquest concerning the death of Mrs. James and Thomas Bushnell, victims of the coach accident at the Tolago Bay road, the evidence was that Mrs. James, a passenger, had her neck broken. Bushnell died from rupture of the menengeal artery caused by a fracture of the skull. Neilson, an injured passenger, said the lady and child were sitting alongside the driver. Witness was inside the coaeh. Reaching the hill near Tatapoiri the horses broke into a gallop. Witness saw tho driver endeavoring to pull up. He then saw Mrs. James and the driver thrown off the coach, the result of a big heave. After the coach had gone two chains, witness jumped out and saw Mrs. James dead and Bushnell injured.' A verdict was returned that death was the result of an accident caused by misadventure, no evidence having been adduced to show how the accident happened, and no blame being attachable to anyone.
