A FARMER FINED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, Yesterday. At the Supreme Court this afternoon Charles Hall, farmer, of Nireaha, was found guilty of having received stolen tobacco and was fined £2OO or, in default, nine months' imprisonment. MEAT EXPORT TRADE. Palmerston N., Yesterday. A special committee set up to consider the question of sending delegates to England to inquire into the ramifications of tlie meat trade met again this morning, when out of 20 replies received 18 were favorable to the project. The Hawke's Bay Farmers' Union and the Meat Committee of the Canterbury Sheep Farmers' Union dissented. The matter will be further discussed at a Dominion Conference of the Farmers' 'Union at Wellington next week.
