COMMONWEALTH WHEAT.
THE NEW ZEALAND PUKCHASE. By Telegraph.—F.-ess Assn.~Copyright. Melbourne, Sept. 10. In the Assembly, Mr. Downward moved the adjournment of the House to discuss the action of the Wheat Board in selling below the market price. He said that oyer 5,000,000 bushels had been sold to New Zealand at 5s Od to os 7Ad, whereas the price fixed for New Zealand growers was 6s 6d. New Zealand growers evidently found it unprofitable to grow wheat when the price given was 6s 6d. If New Zealand had not purchased in Australia she would have had to pay 10s 6d in Canada or the United States.— Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
