GRAVE UNREST. "S* ■■■ SPLIT AMONG THE SOCIALISTS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 9, 9 p.m. Copenhagen, Sept. 9. A cleavage in the ranks of the German Socialist Party is threatening concerning direct action. Violent protests are made at the party's general assembly in Berlin against Merr Haase, who advocates parliamentary action. There was great applause for Herr Daumig, the direct aetionist. Leaders withdrew the motion, fearing the vote would result in an open conflict. Subsequently troops with machine-guns dispersed the extremists. A demonstration occurred at Spandau, where five were wounded. Grave unrest prevails elsewhere in Germany. Riots led to street fighting in Bremen. Attempts to shoot General Vorbech at Stargard resulted in the arrest of the would-be assassin. A crowd attempted to storm tho prison. Troops dispersed the mob. Several were killed and wounded.—Aus.
