HOCKEY.
AOTEA (STRATFORD) WIN SHIELD. On Wednesday, tlio Hawera ladles' team journeyed to Stratford lo meet Aotea to doelde who should hold the shield. The visitors found the ground, which Is somewhat bumpy, against them, and Stratford showed much superior combination, securing threo goals, scored by Misses D. and V. Songster and Weston, to nil. Stratford's goallieepor and centre-half were the pick of a good team. The Hawera girls hod an "off" day, and failed to come up to usual form. Mr. W. Stephens was the referee.
