TRENTHAM SCHOLARSHIPS.

EXECUTIVE PROPOSALS. By Telegraph.—Press Assorfsiioa. Wellington, Last Night A meeting of the executive of the Trentham Art Union was held to-aight to discuss proposals for the establishment of Trentham scholarships and the application thereof. Mr. S. Kirkealdie, who presided, said the executive would be able to hand over to the trustees about £36,000, which, on a 20 yean' bails at 4} per cent., would yield £B6OO a year. A scheme suggested by Or. '•' It was decided to recommend to the trustees that no distinction should be made between public and private secondary schools of equal educational stand* ing.
