CONFERENCE ADJOURNED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 1, 9.35 p.m. Melbourne, Sept. 1. The seamen's conference was held in private and terminated abruptly, being adjourned till to-morrow, it is believed in order to enable Mr. Millen to endeavor to settle the wharf laborers' dispute. Mr. Millen interviewed the wharf laborers' representative, but the result is not known.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
