LIVE STOCK SALES. ADDINGTON. Cbristchurcli, Aug. 27. -U ibo Atldington market to-day yardings were smaller all round iii tho beet and mutton suctions, and there is little change to report lu values. Butchers tool; most of tbo fat sueop offering, prices beiuij a littlo easier. Beef Was a trifle firmer.
Store Sheop.—There was a small entry of mixed description, inferior sorts predominating 4, (i, and 8-tootb ewes 18s Id to l'Ja 7d, 2-tooth wethers to 30a, 4 and 0-tooth wetliers 34s 3d to Hi's Ud, a.m. wethers 335. Fat Cattle.—Tho yarding totalled 325, and the quality was mixed, ranging from prlmo to Indifferent. Competition for good stuff was keen, and prices should soon advance. Extra prima steers to £BB 10s, prima £2O to £25, ordinary £8 ITs lid to £1!) 15s, extra prime heifers to £23, prlmo £ls to £l9 10s, ordinary £8 to £l3, extra prime cows to £25, prime £l2 10s to £lB 10s, ordinary £8 10s to £l2.
Fa I Sheep.—Tbero was a smaller yarding than the previous weok. The quality ranged from prime well-finished ewes and wethers to Indifferent. The sale opened well and remained steady. Prices showed a slightly easier tendency. Extra prlmo wethors to t!2s 6d, prime 45s to 50s 3d, medium 39s to 425, lighter and. untlnished 35s to 3Ss, extra prime ewes 00s, prima 53s to 52s Od, medium 30s to 40s Od lighter 31s Id to 34s 6d, hoggets 28s Od to 34s Od.
Store Cattle.—Tho yarding was small and values were a little weaker. A line of 2 and 3-year-old heifers brought £B. Other 3ales included a line of mixed sex yearlings £4 4s to £4 17s (id, calves 16s, cows from £4 17s BU to £7 17s Od.
The supply of voalers was much below requirements, and prices advanced for anything tit to kill. Runners £5 4s to £6, good vealers £3 5s to £4 os, fair £2 0s to £2.135, small and inferior lis to £2.
Thero was a moderate entry of dairy cows of medium quality. The demand was Irregular. Cows £5 to £ls ss, heifers £0 15a to £ll.
Fat Pigs.—Extra heavy baconers to £9, heavy £7 to £8 ss, medium £5 103 to £0 10s (equal to lOd to 10% per lb.), heavy porkers £3 10s to £5, medium £3 5s to £4 5s (equal to Is per lb.), choppers £0 to £l4. There was a,big entry of store pigs, and a very fair demand. Best stores 40s to 595, medium 42s to 495, small pigs 35s to 40s, weaners 22s to 293, sons in pig £5 to £7 17s
BURNSIDE. Dunedln, Aug. 27. At Burnslde, 100 fat cattle were penned. Competition was keen and towards tho flni3h prices showed on advanco of 20s. Prime bullocks £24 to £29, medium £l9 to £23, lighter £l6 to £lB, prlmo heifers £l7 to £l9 7s Od, medium £ls to £l6, light (aged), £l2 upwards.
Fat Sheep,—l33l penned. Tho entry Included more wethers than usual, the bulk being of very good quality. Prices opened equal to late rates and firmed considerably as the sale progressed, prime sheep advancing fully ss, and lighter sorts nbout 3s. Extra prime heavy weathers to 84s, prime heavy 58s to 67s Od, medium to 48s and 565, light unfinished from 38s, extra prime heavy ewes CCs 3d, prime 45s to 49s Od, medium 39s to 445, light unfinished 24s to 355.

At Waiwakalho on Aug. 22, I report a fatr yardlng, all classes meeting with a ready sals Dairy cattle were yarded in big numbers Included in which was a small herd on account of Mr. W. George, of Smart Road, this containing a few quality Jerseys, which sold well. Dairy heifers mostly were in low condition and rather backward, but nevertheless sold well. Mixed yearling 3 £4 2s, yearling holfers £3 15s to £5 4s, poorer sorts 35s to £2 10s yearling steers £2 18s (id to £1 103 6d, 2-year-old empty heifers £5 10s to £6 17s 6d, store cows £li 10s to £!) ss, 4-tooth ewes lln Inmb) 34s Cd, full-mouthed ewes 17s 6d to 235, fat ewes 335. Best cows In Mr. George's herd realised £ls to £23, others £ll to £l3 10s. Dairy cows on account of other vendors sold from £lO to £lB, 2-year-old dairy heifers (close up) £ll 5s to £l2 10s, 3-year-old dairy hoifers (poor conditioned and backward) £8 to £lO 10^ At Douglas, on 25th inst., both sheep ant cattle were yarded in excess of jardlng accomoradation, enquiry for all classes provingkeen throughout. Younger cattle came forward in big numbers these taken on the whole showing good colour, in good nick and selling In advance of recent rates. Two-year-old empty heifers, and 2 and 3-year-old steers also showed an advance, some lines of these offered on account of Mr. W. Gray, of Strathmore, being keenly sought after. Of the sheep yarded good wethers and hoggets were mostly in demand. Mixed yearlings (134 in line) £4 7s, others £3 to £3 15a, yearling steers £4 8s to £5 (poorer sorts) 35s to £2 10s, yearling heifers £4 Cs to £5 19a, 2-year-old empty holfers £0 IBs to £7 10s, 18-monihs stoers £5 18s to £6 9s, 2-year-old steers £7 6s to £9 3s, 3-year-old steers £9 15s to £ll 10s, fat cow 3 £l2, store cows £6 10s to £9 bulls £ll 15s to £l2 10s, dairy cows £9l to £ls, 3-year-old dairy heifers £l4 to £10; backward sorts £s to £ll, mixed seied hoggets 20s Gd to 295, Bmaller sorts 17s Id to 24s 4d, mixed aged wethers 30s Od to 375, I fat ewes 32s Od, full-mouthed ewes (in latnb) 19s 6d.
At Stratford, on 26th. inst., I report a full yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep sold at late rates, good hoggets, being mostly in demand. In tbe store pens young cattle again came forward In big numbers, good sorts soiling well. Mixed yearlings £2 10s to £3 Is, yoorllng steers £4 0s to £5 Os, coloured and smaller sorts £2 15s Od to £3 10s, yearling hoifers £4 2s to £5 10s, smaller heifers £3 to £3 12s Od, 2-year steers (colored), £6 15s 3-year-old steers £ll, 2-jear-old empty holfers £6 10s to £7 Cs, forward conditioned cows £9 63 to £lO 2s 6d, store cows £6 10s to £8 10s.
The dairy sale attracted a good muster of dairymen, a big yarding of good quality cattle, mostly heifers, coming forward. I offered a small herd on account of Mr. D. Korrlck of Stratford, this although containing many poor conditioned cattle sold well. Mr. E. Walter of Douglas, again yarded some line quality heifers which met with a ready sale In Mr. Kerrisk's herd best cows realised £l4 to £l9, poorer conditioned sorts £9 to £l2, cows on account of other vendors £lO to £2O dairy heifers £l2 to £l6, smaller and backward sorts £8 103 to £lO 10s
At Inglewood, on 27th. Inst, all classes of cattle came forward, practically the whole of which was cleared at prices in many cases in advahce.of recent sales, there being a pronounced enquiry for young cattle and dairy cattle. Sheep were rather dull, only a small yarding coming forward. Mixed yearlings £3 4s to £4 2s. yearling steers £3 6s to £4 lis, yearling belfers £4 4s to £5 lis, smaller sorts £2 103 to £3 2s Od, 2-ycar-old cmniy heifers £7 3s to £7 17s, 18 to 20-month steers £5 16s to £6. 12s, forward conditioned cows £9 to £lO 10s, store cows £0 5s to £7 15s yearling bulls £4 5s to £0 12s 6d. Dairy cows realised £l2 to £l7 10s, backward sorts £9 10s to £ll, 3-year-old dairy heifers (choice) £l4 to £l9, others £9 10s to £l2
At Inglewood, on 25th. Inst., I conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. A. N. Franklin. Buyers attended in strong numbers, a most satisfactory clearance of everything resulting. The herd contained some nice quality cows, the best of which realised £ls to £24 10s, late calvers sold from £lO upwards,' H-year-old heifers £lO, yearling heifers £3, bull £lO, ewes and lambs 20s 9d, hoggets 28s, fErra horses £l2 and £ls 10s. At Warea, on 23th. inst., I • conducted-; a dispersal salo on account of Mr. . \y,. Gibbons, I report a good sale throughout, buyers attending from all parts of tho coast.
