BACIAL TROUBLES. NEGROES' WARNING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-'-Copyright. Received Aug. 29, 8.10 p.m. - Washington, Aug. 28. A delegation of negroes, speaking on behalf of the Equal Sights League, told the Senate Committee that grave racial troubles are expected in the United States unless the negroes are treated better. The league proposed an amendment of the Versailles treaty providing for equal consideration of races without distinction of color.
A mob Bhot dead a negro named Cooper in a church in Eaatman, Georgia, and then burned down the church and several negro benevolent lodges. Prior to lynching the negro a rumor was circulated suggesting that* the negroes intended to murder the whites.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
PEACE DELEGATION'S EXPENSES. Received Aug. ,29, 8.10 p.m. Washington, Aug. 28. President Wilson informed Congress that the expenditure of the American peace delegation from December, 1918, to December, 1919, will probably be more than a million and a half dollars. The delegation totalled 1300 persons.—Reuter.
