CYCLIST CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Carr Melville Hoffmann was committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter in ponnection with the death of Leonard Norman Fisher. At the inquest on Fisher the verdict was that death resulted from injuries received through collision with a bicycle ridden by accused on the evening of July 19.
RACING AND SHOWGROUNDS. Levin, Last Night. The Horowhenua Racing Club and the A. and P. Association jointly raised £4500 by debentures during the past few days for the purchase of 70 acres at Levin for racing and show purposes.
MILK ADULTERATION. Nelson, Last Night. At the, Magistrate's Court to-day Henry G. E. Kingsland, dairy farmer, of Appleby, was fined £25 on each .of two informations charging him with selling milk contain added water. An analysis of three samples showed that they contained respectively 22 per cent., 20 per cent, and 19 per cent, of added water, and the solids other than fats were also below th« xeauired itandari^
