CENTRAL SCHOOL.

MEETING OP COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Central School Committee was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs Q. H. Dolby (in the chair), W. Girling, W. S. Cobham, F. A. Coleman (secretary), and Mr. H. A. Stratford (headmaster). Apologies were received from Messrs S. G. Smith, M.P., and C. Lindop. The headmaster reported that the daily average attendance for the past four weeks had been G13.6| :or 03.8 per eent. of the,average roll. The present roll number was 600. The Central boys were the winners of the northern end of the football competition, and have now to pjaV'.flie southern end to decide the championship of Taranaki. The headmaster was congratulated on the success;of the school in the football competition. The committee approved the appointment of Mrs. Capron as caretaker," and granted the Boy Scouts the use of the gymnasium on terms suggested by the headmaster.
