INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.

CASES IN WELLINGTON HEALTH DISTRICT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. During the week ending August 25 there were 32 cases of influenza reported in Wellington health district, compared with 23 in the previous week. Three were of the pneumonic type of influenza. Of the reminder one was reported as a severe ease, the rest be'.,ig classed as mild. Discussing the increase in the number nf influenza cases, Dr. Watt, district health officer, remarked that the population of the Wellington public health district . was about 400,(100, and the fact that 32 eases of influenza were reported in one week should not be regarded with undue alarm. The influenza being notified was of a comparatively mild nature, but nevertheless the situation was being watched very closely.
