THE WAIRUNA.
RETURN OF CAPTURED MEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, August 23. By the new steamer Wairuna arrived from San Francisco Captain Saunders, Chief Engineer M'Caughoy, and twelve members of the crew of the vessel formerly bearing the name of Wairuna, Which was sunk by the raider Wolfe on June 2, 1917. 'After 14 days in Germany they were tent in squads to work repairing railway lines. Their food consisted mostly of dried swede turnips, one small loaf every three days, and a mixture tailed soup. They were allowed sixpence a day to buy tobacco.
