AUCKLAND SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. In the Supreme Court, .Mm convicted on charges of false pretences by the issue of valueless cheques, came up fc sentence. A communication from the Naval Pay Office corroborated accused story that he was ill the naval service out of Now Zealand, and that there wa* Bonic pay to his credit. Accused was sentenced to three months' hard labor, followed by three years' detention for reformatory purposes. LAND AGENT'S CLAIM. Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Herdraan, Henry Cook, land agent, claimed monies alleged to bo due. under a promissory note, also commission on the sale of two properties from Frank Meyer, a sheep farmer at Ke Kerangu, Nelson.
