EVERYBODY'S. LILIAN WALKEITIN "LUST OF THE AGES." It is a rare thing to see a beautiful woman play many parts in one production. Lilian Walker celebrates her return to the screen in "The Lust of Ages" by doing this in a manner that reflects til--) fyreatest credit on her ability as an actress. The picture contains many episodes of rare beauty, and in some scenes regal luxury is a feature of the magnificent production. Another episode of "The House of Hate" shows with this programme, which screens finally tonight. " THE PEOPLE'S. "MISS ROBINSON CRUSOE." Pamela Sayre, bewitching, beautiful, rich,' longs for a romance with a real man. She loves Bertie, a worthless fashion plate, but accepts a gay old flirt. A deserted island and opportunity give Bertie a chance, and proves you can never judge a man by the clothes he wears. The play is beautifully set amid the famous Thousand Islands. On the same bill are Christie comedy and the final episode of "Capturing Wild Animals in the Rockies," showing the capture alive of a huge lion. EMPIRE. THE GREAT PROBLEM PICTURE, '•RACE SUICIDE." At the Empire Theatre next Friday and Saturday Walter Monk's enterprises will present the hi.'/ double attraction programme, "Race Suicide" and "Chase Me." Charlie." "Race Suicide," as the name implies, is a problem picture—a story of the struggle of ruothcr-love throughout the ages, culminating in a present-dav storv of the woman .who no-itponed thcnatural result of marriage until it was too late. The picture, handles a delicate subject boldly, and throughout contains ample thrills and is superb as a story. Its action is swift and its plot is most interesting. Ormi Hawley and Earl Metcalfe appear in the leading roles. "Race Suicide" was a 1 ureat* success a few weeks back, when first shown in Wellington. The Evening Post says: "It is a remarkably powerful and forceful picture that speaks plainly of a great social vice." Although no restrictions have been placed on this picture by the censor, the management j.wish to emphasise the fact that it is not a subject for children, for the reason that the young mind could not grasp the problem presented. "Chase Me, Charlie," is an Essanay arrangement running into five reels of mirthful comedv arranged from all the" chief comedies produced by Charlie Chaplin tinder his Essanay contract. There will be a special matinee of "Chase Me, Charlie," on Saturday afternoon, commencing at -> o'clock. Prices of admission for the night session will be: Dress circle 2s, stalls Is (plus tax). Seats mar be reserved at Collier's. Prices for'the matinee will be: Adults Is, children fid. "Race Suicide" will be screened at the night session only.
