Hornsbv, the present member for Wairarapa, will again be a candidate at the coming elections. SIR WM. FRASER NOT RETIRING. Wellington, Last Night. Sir W. Fraser, referring to the statement to the effect that he was about to retire from the Ministry, said he had never hinted that he intended to retire from the Ministry or from politics. What he said to the Auckland Automobile Association was that its request involved a heavy expenditure, and ought to be dealt with by the new Parliament, for on the oVe of an election he would not commit the country to such expenditure, and he did not consider he would be justified in pledging the finances of the country heavily in such circumstances.
Mr. Smith, M.P., delivered an address to the electors at Korito on Tuesday evening. Mr. J. Houlahan presided, and, after an attentive hearing, the speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Exception was taken to the idea of women representatives in Parliament. Mr. Smith speaks at Warea to-night. Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P. for Taranaki, will deliver an address in the Empire Theatre on Monday evening, when, amongst other matters, he will deal with the question of the West End School site.
