ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Now Plvmouth Sash and Door Factory and Timber Company, Ltd., was held'on Monday afternoon, Mr. Newton King (chairman of directors) presiding. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report stated: The profit and loss account shows a credit of £1957 4a, after setting aside a sum of £ 150 for bad und doubtful debts. There has been a substantial increase in the turn-over, but the profit has been reduced owing to various causes resulting from the late war. The directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 5s per share on all paid-up shares, and 3s on those partially paid; this will absorb £IBSO and leave a balance of £357 4s to carry forward. The company lias suffered a severe loss by the death of their late colleague, Mr. J. E. Connett, who had been a director for a period of over 34 years; they also have lost the services of Mr. G. F. Robinson as a director, he having resigned the position and taken up his residence in Christchureh. Messrs J. S. Connett and W. 11. Skinner have been appointed in their stead.

The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, referred to the death of Mr. J. B. Connett. whose loss the directors felt very much indeed. He also referred to the retirement from the directorate of Mr. G. F. Rohinson, who had been a very valued member of the board. The motion was seconded by Mr. R. Cock and carried. ELECTION OF DIRECTORS. The retiring directors, Messrs A. Goldwater and W. Cutfield, were re-elected, and Mr. H. Baily was re-appointed auditor.

The directors were voted the usual honorarium.

THANKS TO STAFF.

In proposing a vote or thanks to the staff Mr. King refererd in appreciative terms to their ldyal services in the interests of the company during the year. Mr. J, S. Connett, 'in seconding, said that from his observations he realised that the company had a very capable and efficient staff, and that' all wore working together for the welfare of the company.

The motion was carried unanimously.
