DAIRY COMPANIES.
LOWGASTH. There was an attendance of over 20 shareholders. at the annua! meeting of the Lowgarth Co-operative Dairy Company, held on Thursday, Mr. M. McMahon presided. The annual report congratulated suppliers on continued prosperity, although there had been a further decline in output due to the war and the unfavorable spring. During the season Is lOd was paid out for butter-fat, and when all is realised there should be another 2%d to allocate. It would be some time before the season's accounts could be finally settled, as there were still 2697 cases of cheese in store. Owing to the delay in settling the Government storage account it was not even yet possible to close up the 1917-18 affairs, and the sum of £207 17s Od was held in reserve on that season's account. Statistics were as fololw: Milk, 7,770.452 lb; average test, 3.84; flit, 9M.155 lb; cheese (factory weighty, 816,715 lb; creamery butter, 300" lb; <vhe v butter, 15 ? f1<15 lb: milk to lib "of cheese, 9.52 lb; cheese to lib of butterfat. 2.73 lb. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. N , ■ ■: A special vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Booker for his services during the influenza epidemic. A resolution was carried in favor of starting a herd-testing association in connection with the factory. The following were elected to fill vacancies on the directorate: Messrs A. D. Johnston, J: G. Short, W. 0. Gardiner and W H. Richards. Mr. McMahon expressed his inability to continue on the directorate on account of pressure of work, and at the subsequent meeting of directors Mr E. J. Fcaron was elected chairman,.
