THE PEOPLE'S. DOROTHY GISH. ' Those of you who have seen D. W. Griffith's wonderful masterpiece,'"Hearts of the World," will remember, Dorothy Giah'si remarkable portrayal of the Little Disturber. Her acting in that picture was a revelation, and established the young star firmly in the hearts of motion picture lovers. Now that, her first Paramount picture, "Battling Jane," has arrived from America and will be showing at the People's to-day, the occasion will bo one, no doubt, of joy, for Dorothy Gish's admirers. The story presents her as an urchin of the streets who breaks right into the picture riding a bicycle. Her tyres puncture outside i a doctor's house who happens to have a wife that he neglects. Dorothy takes charge of the wife's baby, and the \vomaa dies Events that "follow are fast and furious. Pathos intermingles with laughter, and so on, till a thoroughly satisfactory climax terminate*' the charming photoplay.

EVERYBODY'S. MATINEE TO-DAY. KITTY GORDON IN "TINSEL." There is a novel plot in "Tinsel," the \Vorld drama now showing at Everybody's this afternoon and again finally to-night. A mother who knows the world and especially nankind at its worst believes-that it is wise that her (laughter should not grow up blind through ignorance. Tho result is a tense drama of society life. Kitty Gordon, Muriel Ostriche, and Frank Mayo are the leading characters. DRAMATIC ENTERTAINMENT. Interest in the forthcoming dramatic entertainment, which opens a two-night season on Wednesday next, is growin« rapidly, and the bulk of the available booking has already been taken up. Two plays by J. M. Barrie are in course of preparation and a farce by Gertrude Jennings, and the cast has been well chosen. The works are being produced under the direction of Mr. John Baillie, late of the Beerbohm Tree, London, company of dramatists. The title of one of the plays is "The Twelve Pound Look," in which Miss Bedford, Mrs. Walter Weston, and Mr. John Baillie will nppear, and the other is "Rosalind," the parts of which are to be taken by Mrs. Claude Weston, Mrs. E. A. Walker, ana Mr. Eric Rowe. The farce, with which the entertainment will conclude, wilt be played by Mrs. J. C. Nicholson, Miss P. K. Morrison, Miss Betty Crooke, and Mr. John Baillie. A special orcnestra ofls players, under the direction of Miss Constance Lcatham, will provide the music. The entertainment is in aid of St. Mary's Peace Memorial Fund.
