Received August 14, 7.45 p.m. Melbourne, August 14. The Returned Soldiers' and Sailors' League -asked for the abolition of all Lutheran churches and schools in Victoria. Mr. Lawson replied that the subject had been fully considered, and it was decided it would be against British tradition to interfere with native bom subjects in the matter of religion and conscience. If specific instances that these schools were hotbeds of disloyalty were forthoming they would be dealt with. RAIN WANTED FOR WHEAT. Received August p.m. Brisbane, August 14.
