On Friday there were in port 16 vessels—l 3 steamers and three sailing vessels—other than local coasters, end their gross tonnage totalled nearly 70,000 tons. Six of the steamers were large overseas vessels, ; whose tonnage ranged from 5730 gross to 10,835 gross At the King's Wharf were tho Mahla 10 835 tons; Ruapehu, 8881 tons; Tarawera,! 1993 toiiß; and Flora, 1283 tons.
