ORGANISING TEACHERS.
NEEDS OP COUNTRY DISTRICTS. The. question of the best, means of meeting the educational needs of the back country districts of Taranaki lias occupied the attention of the Education Board on many occasions. The matter was advanced a stage further yesterday, when. 011 the recommendation of the Teachers' Selection Committee, the board decided to make application to the Department for authority to appoint four organising teachers for the Taranaki Educational District. The idea is to establish four districts, with headquarters at Tauniartinui, Stratford. Opunake, and Tongaporutu, and the following are the schools included in the several districts: Taumarunui: Haparua and Waitewheniin, Waitanga Turoto Road, Nilio Nilio, Otanuiwai, Mahirakau, Okalmkura, Wairere, Paraketu Valley, To Wakarae, Otunui, Aukopae, Tokiruua, and Tatu. Tongaporutu: Marakopa, Malioenui, Awakino, Mokau, Mokau Household, Tongaporutu, Ahititi, Okau, Mt. Messenger, Uruti, Musker-T. Pelut Household, Okoke. T'iko, Miini, Pukearube. Stratford: Tahora, Huriinoana, Kohulatahi, Marco, Pokohura, Makahu, Tututawa, Pimiwhalcati, Kiore, Raupuha, Matau, Pnrangi, Pukeho, Ta.rata, Waiongona, Tuna, Ackland, Radnor, Denbigh, Durham, Waingoiigoro, Rowan. Opunake: Koru, Newall, Kahui, Kina, Arn.whata, Thaia, Oeo, Mangfihume, Hurford, Awatuna, Makuka,. Eraser Road, Arawata, Mata. IN: ok arc, Mungamingi, Matomateaonga. In speaking 011 the matter, the chairman said the .innovation was one of the most forwitril moves yet taken in the direction of improving the work of teachers in the back blocks, and if put into effect it, would do a great deal of good for both teachers and children.
