COURT-MARTIALLED FOR DESERTION.

A TECHNICAL BREACH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At a court-martial to-day Private Frank MoSweeney was, charged with desertion by absenting himself from a parade at Invercargill of the reinforcement draft in which he was drawn. Evidence tendered for the defence showed that accused believed himself over the military age. Capt. l McCormaek, for the prosecution, said it appeared to him that accused'was guilty of a technical breach in ignorance of the law, and that if the Defence authorities had had tho information the case Would probably never have arisen. The court announced that is decision would be promulgated in due course.
