Long, Sir Auckland Geddes, and Sir Eric Geddes liave issued writs against the Daily News for statements relating to their investments in Russian securities.—Aus.-NZ. Cable Assn. Received August 3, 5.5 p.m. London, July 31. The Daily News admits that its statement Was fundationless that Mr. Walter Long, Sir Eric Guides, and Mr. Austin Chamberlain had increased their holdings in Russian shares since the revolution, or even since the armistice, and unreservedly apologises for the statements, which first appeared in tho Nation, against . which Sir Auckland Geddcs has. issued a writ.—Aus.-N.Z.
