ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND SHOT. Christchurch, July 30. The caretaker of Linwood Park this morning found an unconscious man, abgut 00 years of age, lying near the dresoing-shed with a bullet wound in his temple and a five-chambered revolver, one chamber being discharged, lying alongside. The man was removed to the hospital. His condition is critical. , Christchurch, Last Night. I At the inquest hold on Charles Leslie InWood, 52 years of age, a farmer of Upper Waitohi, who was found shot in Linwood Park this morning and died in the hospital, evidence was given that deceased suffered from neurasthenia. A verdict was returned that deceased shot himself while of temporarily uusonnd mind. A GIRL'S DEATH. Christchurch, Last, Night. Eleanor Coventry, 11 years of age, who had been temporarily left alone in her parents' house at Sydenham, was found by a neighbor suffering from a guimhot wound in the abdomen this afternoon, and died shortly after admission to the hospital. At the inquest evidence Was tendered that the gun had not been used for ten months, and was unloaded. The cartridges were kept apart from the gun on a shelf in a' cupboard. The inquest was adjourned till to-morrow for medical and other evidenceBODY FOUND IN HARBOBR. Auckland, Last Night. The body of John Chaafe, jun., wjii found floating in the harbor to Deceased was a well-known Anckin ii trainer, and was a son of the Veteran trainer, John Chaafe, who is now stationed ftt Hawke's Bay. He leaves a wife and three children. AN APPARENT FATALITY. Dnnedin, IdiAfc Night. A man named Egbert S.ainsbury, 81 | years of married, residing at | Qneenstown, apparently met his death 'some days ago by falling intoH-he ShotI over River at Skipper's, near QueensI town, while endeavoring to remove some sheep from the ed/r e of a precipice. A search was mado for his body, but, so far, it has not been recovered.
