There havis been remarkable military demonstrations at Berlin during tl>:e past two days which suggest that a reactionary coup is imminent, Th£ Iron Division marched in with banners flying and halted at Bismarck's monument, where the band played the Kaiser's hymn Similar military demonstrations have taken place throughout the country indicating the growth of a eounter-'revo-iutiohary Movement. The Cologne Gazette states that the Government is projecting a forced 2 per cent loan of ten thousand, millions sterling, Siemens dismissed 10,000 men for refusing to work owing to the dismissal of leaders for organising a general strike on the 21st.—Aus.-N.Z.
