At Addlngton Marltot to-day there were moderate entries of fat sheep and fat cattle, and tho offerings In other departments were small. Fat cattle were somewhat Irregular, but on the whole prices . wore a little firmer. This was also the ,caso with fat sheep, but values increased to a proportionately greater extent. The business done in store sheep and store cattle was unimportant. Pat pigs were In short supply, and stores met with little demand. The attendance at the sale was much below average. Store sheep: Two-tooth ewea, 30s 3d to 33s 10d: two and four-tooth ewes, 22s 9d; four, sis, and eight-tooth ewes, 17s 9d to 30s 6d; ews hoggets, 21s. fat sheep: Extra prime wethers, to 63a; prime wethers, 48s to 555; medium wethers, 38s to 475; lighter wethers-, 32s Cd to 37s Od; extra prime ewes, 555; prime, 42s to 50s 3d; medium ewes, 35s to 41s; lighter, 20s to 345; prima hoggets, 38s to ,435; lighter hoggets, 25s to 29s lid. BURNSIDE MARKET. Dunedin, July 23. At the Burnsldo market to-day 97 fat cattle were penned. The quality was only fair. No hctivy bullocks camo forward. The entry was BhDTt of . requirements, and a sharp rise in prices took place, resulting in a record sale of cattle for Burnßido. Prime steers, £23 17s 6d to £2O 7s 6d; medium, £l9 to £22 15s; light, £ls 10s upwards; prime cows and heifers, £l7 to £l9 12s Gd; medium, £l3 10s to £l6; others, £ll upwards. Pat Sheep—ll74 penned. With the exception of a few pons, the quality was poor. Compelltlon for good sheep was keen at a slight advance on lato rates, but medium and Inferior showed no Improvement. Prime wethers, 51s 6d to 555; medium, 41s Od to 475; light, 23s Od upwards; prime heavy ewes, 54s 3d to 57a; prime, 38s 3d to 45s 9d; medium, 27s to 31s Od; light, 21s 3d upwards. Lambs.—lso penned. The quality was good and competition very keen. A smalt yarding of pigs sold under keen competition at advanced rates.

NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At Urenui, on 22nd inst., I had a good yarding of all classes of cattle, enquiry being ketn throughout, a good clearance resulting. Yearling heifers £2 10s to £3 18s, 20-month empty heifers £5 10s to £6 7s 6d, 20-month to 2-year-old steers £6 3s to £6 lis, small do. £1 2s, 3-year-old do. £7 10s to £8 ss, fat cows £lO 12s 6d to £ll 12s 6d, forward conditioned do. £9 5s to £lO, store do. £6 12s Od to £7 ss, cows and calves £9 17s 6d, bulls £0 to £l2 15s, mixed sexed hoggets 21s 10s, mixed aged ewes (in lamb) 23s 7d to 25s Cd, 4-tooth wethers 31s, dairy cows £H to £lB 10s, 2-year-old In-calf heifers £lO 10s to £l2 15s, smaller and backward sorts £7 5s to £8 15s. At Stony River, on 22nd Inst., despite the I rough state of the weather there was a fair yarding, a good sale of all classes resulting. Mixed yearlings £2 7s 6d to £3 17s 6d, yearling heifers 35s to £4 3s, yearling steers 35s to £3, 20-month empty heifers £5 to £0 ss, fat heifers £ll ss, forward conditioned cows £9 to £8 10s, storo do. £6 to £B, mixed aged Wethers 295, 20-raonth to 2-year-old ln-caif heifers £8 [to £lO, dairy cows £lO 10s to £l3 10s. At Carrington Road, on 22nd inst., I conducted a dispersal sale on account of Mr. A. J. Guscott. Stock realised: Cows £ll to £l7, 20-month empty heifers £5 2s Od, yearling steers £3 9s 6d, yearling heifers £3 2s Od, 6-tooth owes (In lamb) 31 2s, mixed sexed hoggets 22s Bd, farm horses £fi to £2O, stock on account of other vendors realised: Cows £lO to £ls, 20-month in-calf heifers (small) £0 15s, f.m. evves (in lamb) 20s, mixed sexed hoggets 20s Id, farm horses £lO to £2l. At Carrington Road on 23rd Inst. I conducted a clearing sale on account of Mrs. Brydon. Buyers attended In good numbers, a most satisfactory sale of everything resulting. Best cows made from £ls to £23, late calrers £lO to £l3 10s, mixed yearlings £3, farm horse 3 £lO to £lB. At Tataraimaka, on 24th Inst., I conducted a dispersal sale on account of Mr. W. D. Linn. The vendor's herd comprised mostly Jersey cattle of very fine quality and In good condition Buyers were Irf attendance from all parts of Tnranakl, bidding throughout proving exceptionally brisk, the herd of 70 cows realising the high average of £2l. Some nice quaU ity grade 3-year-old Jersey heifers also met with keen competition, tho tops of these realising £2O to £22. Best cows made £2O to £.38, backward sorts and small 2nd calvers £lO to £ls, 3-year-old Jersey in-calf heifers (choice)' £lO 10s to £22, others £l2 to £ls 10s, 1 smaller and later calvers £8 to £lO, mixed sexed hocgets 245, farm horses £32.. At 801 l Block, on the same'day, I conducted i dispersal sale on account of Mr. H. Jeffries. There was a good attendance of buyers; the cows selling very well, despite a few being rather backward and In low condition.!
