A sensational development occurred at, the trial of I ."mis 'Richard on the charge of betraying his countrymen in Lille to the Germans, including the schoolmaster Jacquet, who worked in conjunction with Nurse Cavell. Richard deuied everything, until a Red Cross director gave evidence concerning Richard's pro-German activity. Richard then confessed everything, including espionage.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
