Tho Federal Government rejected the proposal of the conference for a strike conference, and Cabinet' is now considering, a further proposal for a settlement from the conference. Adelaide, July 25. The Seamen's Federation passed a resolution favoring a further ballot .on the question of arbitration. If the results favor arbitration the federation will not enter the court until the otlkials in gaol are released.—Aus.-NZ. Cable Assn. Walsh, the secretary of the Seamen's Union, who is imprisoned,, has started a hunger strike. A SETTLEMENT IMMINENT. Received July 25, 11.15 p.m. Melbourne, July 25. r Tho Federal Government has decided to approach the shipowners with a view to calling a conference concerning the strike. Union circles believe a settlement is imminent. Considine has been- sentenced to three weeks' imprisonment for disloyal utterances,
