ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Waipawa, July 24. Jolm Sharpin, builder, a married man, residing at Waipukurau, was killed in a motor accident last night. ' He was found on the side of the road with one wheel of the car across his neck. It is believed that the steering gear failed, causing the car to go over the bank. FOUND DROWNED. Christchurch, July 24. The body of a man which was discovered by a lad in the Ashley River and subsequently disappeared, being carried away by flood, was recovered by the police and recognised as Walter Allen, 42 years of age, a returned soldier of Ranfriora, who had been missing since Sundav. He had been suffering from the effects of a wound and shellshock and insomnia. At an inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned, there being no evidence to show how deceased came by his death.
