Seventeen Australians, also a number of New Zealanders qualified for ,the second stage. Received July 20, 6.5 p.ui. London, July IS. At Bisley, Sergeant Loveday, '«f New Zealand, won the King's prize, scoring 253. In the Corporation of London competition. JTew Zealanders won seven prizes. The Australians won the Colonial prize of £SO, in connection with ill? Kolapore Cup, and took thirteen prizes at the meeting. Received July 20, 5.5 pni. London, July 18. At Bisley, at the end of the shooting at the 300 yards stage of the King's prize, Loveday was third with IUB. against 171 and 109. At the 500 vnrds. Loveday tied with Bissett, of the' Irish Rifles, and Diclc, of tho Royal Navy, with a score of 200. Loveday then put on a brilliant i' 4at 000 yards. Green (an Australian], and Bal'linger (a New, Zealander), tied for twenty-fourth place with scores of 239, Beardsmore fan Australian being thirtieth with 237, Dick (Navy) thirty-fifth with 2,10, JMilwec (an Australian) fifty-fourth with 232, Best (an. Australian) fifty-eighth with 231, Eldridge "(an Australian) seventysecond with 227.
Loveday had a tumultuous reception With liis head garlanded with roses, he was hoisted into the famous chair, which was draped with the New Zealand flag, and carried to have hia rifle examined. Prince Albert, while watching the shooting, saw Loveday end hia shoo!" with five bulls, and was among the first to congratulate the winner. When giving out the prizes, Prince Albert specially welcomed the Dominions' riflemen, and congratulated them on capturing the King's prize. After the prizegiving, Loveday was again chaired around the camp, visiting the club houses, the Australian band playing "See the Conquering Hero Conies.''* Australia won Martin's Cup with a score of 833.—Aus.-N.Z. London, July IS. At Bisley, Australia is one point ahead in the Kolapore Cup with ten shota to go. Captain Brach made 49 out of 50 at 1000 yards, and made the best score in the Kinjj'r, match 100 yards stage. The New Zenlander. Ballinger, made 122, the Australian, W. Australia, with a score of 346, is leading in the first stage of the Kolapore Cup; New Zealand has scored 329. For the King's Silver Medal, two scores of 12ft were a tie; Beadsmore made 127 and Sergeant Loveday (New Zealand) 120. .
