FOOD FOR VISITORS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l notice that the New Plymouth restaurant keepers and jtea room proprietors are closing on Saturday. This will prevent many people from the country taking part in or seeing the celebrations. The hotels -will he open as usual, but many, especially women, do not care to patronise hotels. There m no reason why those employed in the refreshment places should not have the opportunity of also taking part in the celebrations, but surely the Celebrations Committee or that active and worthy organisation, the Women's National Reserve, should be able to make provision of some kind for the women and the kiddies of the country nilfl make a charge for the same. Is it toi> late now for something to be done? Hoping tha\, It is not, and commending the suggestion to the favorable consideration of those concerned,—l am, etc., COUNTRYSIDE.
