General Braddon gave a vivid account of America's war effort, and paid a tribute to .their kindness to Australian troops, who readily made friends with American soldiers. He urged the necessity of combatting anti-British propaganda, whieh, unfortunately, was always active in America, where the Irish question was always an irri,tant because of the Irish vote. Many utterances on the subject, however, were for home consumption only. Nevertheless, they hindered a complete understanding between the English-speaking peoples.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable A B sn.

MEAT CONTROL TO BE MAINTAINED.
