MOTORIST ASSAULTED AND ROBBED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Palmeraton N., July 14. A sensational highway robbery has been reported to the police as having occurred about 6 p.m. on Saturday at Himitangi, in the Foxton district. Two Palmeraton rasidents came across Mr. G. Watson, of Levin, ex-chairman of the County Council, lying in a semiunconscious condition beside his car, and badly knocked about. Mr Watson was conveyed to Palmeraton for medical treatment.

.He states that while motoring home irom Palmerston his car developed engine trouble, and he was endeavoring to fix it when two men rode up on a motor-cycle, and offered assistance. While he was bending down over the engine.he was assaulted by these men and rendered imeonscious. When he regained his senses he was minus His watch and £ls in cash.
