PAY OP MEDICAL OFFICERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association, t , Wellington, July 10. The pay of the medical officers whose services are being retained for the care of the wounded is to be considered by Cabinet. The Minister for Defence states that though the war is over the services of these officers are still required, and as their retention means they cannot re-establish their price practice it is felt something should be done tn recognition of their sacrifice. INFLUENZA CASES IN NEW ZEALAND. Wellington, July 10. A report received by the Minister of Publie Health shows that from July 3 to July 7, 25 cases of fnfluenza were notified. Four cases were pneumonia, and one severe case. The Health districts Were as follow: Auckland C, one pneumonia, one severe; Wellington 13, two pneumonia; Canterbury C, one pneumonia; Otago, nil. THE MINESWEEPERS. Wellington; Last Night. The minesweeper Marguerite returned to port to-day to land a member of the crew, who had developed pneumonia. It is understood that sweeping operations have been resultleas so far.
