NORFOLK ROAD. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The clearing sale conducted by Mr. Newton King's Inglowood staff, on account of Mr. A. P. Heal, nt the farm, Norfolk Road, un Mondav, 7th Instant, was distinctly successful. The day was remarkably fine, much to the surprise of many who attended, and the attendance was lnrge, bidding keen, and good prices la all I Hies wero realised. It was noticeable that all I ■ Implements, furniture, etc, offered were -it sood order, and tho live stock showed that they had been well cared for, so that the success of the sale Is no cause for wonder. The cows—a remarkably quiet lot—averaged £23 Is, the highest selling for £33. The Jersey bull—one of Mr. A. A. Ward's breeding—sold for 36 guineas, and tho farm Implements realised rery satisfactory prices. The farewell to Mr A F. Heal arid family at Norfolk Road on Friday night, 4th InstAnt, was a marked success, In spite of untoward weather. Mr Heal Is one of the oldest—ln fact one of the original—settlers of the Norffllk Road district, and, though he has never been very prominent In local affaire, has been a useful settler, having served on the school committees, as well as taking a keen, though unobttuslvo, Interest In other matters concerning the welfare of the neighborhood. As a pioneer he ha# experienced all the vicissitudes that fall to the lot of those who from the unbroken hush carve out for themselves a civilised, comfortable home, and convert the forest Into profitable land, As usual on such occasions dancing occupied tho greater part of the time' for which the Misses Hogan and Dombrowskl' as pianists, provided the music, relieved by Mr. J. W. Burgess, whose accordeon aceotnpnalment to some of the numbers reminded old residents of the days when pianos were hardly thought of, though tho dancing spirit was atnng A presentation to Mrs. und Mian Heal, of souvenirs to remind them of the goodwill of their fellow settlers and neighbors, was made by Mr H.
