APPEAL COURT.
AN ELTHAM CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association \ Wellington, July 4. The Appeal Court wa« engaged this morning hearing a summons to decide the following question as between the Auditor-General and the Eltham Drainago Board: "is the defondant. boarrj empowered by Section 14 of the Land Drainage Act to act upon (ln> authority conferred on (he eoniily council* bv the Counties Act and pay actual travelling expenses or pay a lump sum in lieu of travelling expenses to the chairman of the defendant board?"' The Soiicitor-fioneral is for the Auditor-General and Messrs. Skerrctt and Kirkcaldie for the board. Judgment was reserved.
