The Daily Chronicle's Geneva correspondent states that Germnay has placed .funds at the disposal of the Oriental League, which is a vast conspiracy founded in Switzerland by Moslem, Hindu and nationalist societies in Europe, to prepare fol' joint (evolutionary post-war action in Egypt, India and Afghanistan. The chief organiser is Baron Wesendonak, former director of the Berlin Foreign Office's Oriental Department. Other organisers Include Talaat Bey, Enver Pasha and Djemal Pasha. —Aus. and N.Z. Mr. Hughes, responding to the toast Of his health, at .a farewell luncheon at the Savoy Hotel, said that neither the •Dominions nor Britain would surrender one jot or tittle of their political independence. The idea of an Imperial Parliament is a vision which will never take Bttbstantial shape, for it is incompatible With the statu# of sovereignty which the Dominions so jealously prize, but we must hope that a means will somehow be found by which the confederation of free nations can work in line and develop. The Gqvernment is granting free passages overseas for service men, provided employment is assured, or they are approved for agricultural settlement by an overseas government.—Aus. and N.Z. Mr Bonar Law explained that the Transport Bill was not intended to introduce local control, but simply a general co-ordinated policy without which the country was heading towards disaster.
