LITE STOCK SALES. ADDINGTON MARKET. .... . .., Chrlstchurch, June 25. At the Addlngton market the snow which set in during the early morning, continued intermittently while the gale was in progress throughout the day. The entries were rather smaller but the weather did not affect the prices to any extent. Store sheep sold at much the same level of values as at the previous week's sale, the entry being small and the Quality generally good. Fat lambs sold well, and there was also a keen demand for fat sheep, export buyers bidding freely. The fat cattle market opened well, but eased off somewhat The yarding totalleld 325 as against 425 the week before. The store cattle yardtog consisted almost entirely of dry cows, and there ..were only small entries of dairy cows and pigs.

Notwithstanding the. boisterous .feather conditions an excellent sale of Mr Jones' herd resulted, the cattle proving an even line of high grade Frleßlans. The herd of 100, which Included over 20 head of unsound cow 3, averaged the high figure of £2O Os 4d. At Matapu on ?4fh Jngt I conducted r dispersal sale of the whole of Mr J. C. Wright's pedigree milking Shorthorn oattle. Being a ploiieer fancier In this particular breed, 'Mr Wright,has built up an exceptionally well bred lino of cattle; which wherever shown or bred had -achieved first-class results. This was easily seen by the record attendance of buyers from- all. parts of the Dominion. Bidding proved brisk throughout and a record sale resulted. Cows realised from 15 to 240 gns; 3-year-old heifers, 24 to 100 gns; heifer calves, 15 to 90 gns; imported bulls, SS and 200 gns; other bulls, 80 and ISO gns; bull calves, 20 to 62 gns; grade Shorthorn cows (second calvers). on account of Mr Wright, made from £ll 10s to £22.'.

At Cardiff on 18th Inst. I held a clearing sale of Mr J. W. Kogers*' live and dead stock. Best cows made £ls to £2O; poorer conditioned backward do, £9 to £l3; a big lot of household furniture, implements and farm sundries was cleared at satisfactory prices. The cows were a fairly even line of big framed Jerseys, most in good condition and showing well forward.
