THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGHT OP BERT LYTEI/L. ..Bert'Lytell as Boston Blackie in the Metro production, "Boston Blackie's Little Pal," based on Jack Boyle's lied Book Magazine story, is I seen in the unique part of a burglar who is also a peacemaker, and who eventually 'brings about a happy reunion in a divided family- This original' and exciting play shows that a man may be a thief and still regain all the other good qualities; which make an honest man of him eventually. He is much more honorable than a so-called "gentleman" who proposes to steal more than' jewels—a man's wife! The latest gasSette, Travelog and comedy are also on the bill. To-morrow's new attraction is "The Family Skeleton," starring Charles Bay and Sylvia Bremer.
EMPIRE THEATRE. .THE KENNEDY COMPANY TO-NIGHT. The famous Kennedy Concert Company . open their local season of two nights at the Empire Theatre to-night. The public of New Plymouth neqd no reminder of the excellence-of the Kennedy's entertainment, as all theatre goers have a pleasant recollection of the delightful concerts given by this talented' combination in the old Theatre Royal some-five years ago. On that occasion musical people were impressed by the performance of young Keith Kennedy, the violinist of the company. Five years have proved sufficient to place this gifted young artist at the very head of his profession, and to-day he ranks as one of the world's leading violin virtuoso's. To-night, Keith Kennedy will play amongst other numbers, "Rondo Brilli- - ant" (his; own composition) and the famous "The Devil's Trills Sonata" (Tartini) and his performance will be a delight to students and lovers of musicThe Kennedy's are too wise ..is The entertainment business to give a programme of all classical numbers; they add a portion of refined and delightful comedy, an operatic soprano, and a singer of popular ballads. The comedy portion is in the capable hands of Ad and Jennie Cree. Miss Bronwen Fairhall is the soprano solist, Miss Mimmie Boaidjieff the balladist, and last, but by no means least, Mdme. Bertha Kennedy presides at the piano, and much of the success of the concert is due to her skill as
accompanist. The prices of admission * are 3b and 2s, and seats may be reserved i all day at Collier's. I ' f EVERYBODY'S. TOM MOORE AND MADGE KENNEDY i IN "THE DANGER GAME." The latest Goldwyn in which Madge J Kennedy has the leading role is entitled "The Danger Game," and is showing at \ Everybody's to-night and to-morrow. t Tom Moore, who is now being starred by Goldwyn in response to numerous requests from his admirers, plays opposite to Madge and makes a most attractive hero. The story contains a mystery element and a very delightful , love interest together with many flashes of humor. In this respect it is a more i serious emotional drama than Madge Kennedy's previous performances and consequently makes a, deeper appeal. It tells the st«y of a young society girl ' who has literary ambitions. Her first novel is ridiculed by reviewers chiefly owing to one burglary scene which tbey declare to be impossible. In a fit of annoyance she sets out to prove the possibility of it by committing a similar burglary on the chief reviewer himself. I The result is some thrilling adventures I and remarkable escapades in. which a ' mysterious young man, evidently of the crook type, participates. The ending i 9 a pleasant surprise. The" settings are fine while the dresses are a gumptious feature. of the play. It moves., at top speed throughout and grips .tie-interest
