The heaviest fall of snow known in> this district took place last night, there being up to six inches in porta. _ The weather now shows signs of clearing. Dannevirke, June 28. Snow fell at Dannevirke and the dhw trict yesterday and' during the night. It was the heaviest fall known for over, 20 years, the countryside is covered about two inches deep, and the outlook for stock is occasioning anxiety. Dannevirke, Last Night. Very heavy snowfall occurred in the Takapau district, resulting in interrupts ing of the train traffic. No trains had,' arrived from the north up to one o'clock. The express train is expected to get through, running about two hours late.
