POULTRY FANCIERS.
ANNUAL MEETINGS. (From Our Special Reporter.) The anual meetings of various societies of poultry fanciers have been held during the past week at the Palmerston Show. LEGHORNS. Mr. J. Jarvis (president) presided over a good attendance of members. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J Jarvis (Palmerston North); vicepresidents,, Messrs J- R. Cunninghame (Taihape), H. E. Cudby (Waitara), J. Nixon (Auckland), D. Stewart (Normanby), W. E. Mathie (Otaki), and the Rev. W. P, Stent (Taihape); secretarytreasurer, Mr. J. Cunninghame (Palmerston ' North); council, Messrs T, Bruce, W. H, B. Croburn, and C. P. Robert Palmerston North); auditor, Mr. W. T. Penny. It was resolved that the Poultry Specialists' Club be recomended to hold a combined show in Palmerston North next winter.
RHODE ISLAND. Mr. J. Cunninghame presided over a good attendance, and in his addrpss remarked that excellent work had been done during the past season and that the prospects for the ensuing season appeared to be bright. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. J.. Cunninghame; vice-presidents, Mr. J. S. Milligan and the Rev. W. P. Stent; secre-tary-treasurer, Mr. J. Jarvis; council, Messrs J. Jenson and S. Hunt; auditor, Mr. G. E. C. Whitehead, ORPINGTONS. The annual report of the North Island Orpington Poultry Society showed that the membership had increased and that there was a substantial credit balance. Regret was expressed at the death of Mr. A. C. Stone. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. J. Jarvis; vicepresidents, Messrs H. W. Bower and W. McLean; treasurer, Mr. C. Roberts; council, Messrs R. D. Whyte, A. E. Deane, W. J. Mawkes, and L. C. Purton; auditor, Mr. G. E. Whittaker.
WYANDOTTES. The Wyandotte Poultry Club held its fifth annual meeting. It was stated that last year's show was a record one, and the quality of the birds was particularly good. The balance-sheet showed a credit of , £73. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. Jarvis; vicepresidents, Messrs W. T. Penny, D. H. Rutherford, E. J. boss, T. B. Holdaway, W. Hall (Lepperton), W. A. Sowman, A. C. Aubrey (Waitara), A. R. AnderBon, W. Parker (Waitara), H. G. Hunt, L. Burberry, and W. Sunn; secretarytreasurer, Mr. E. Pratt; council, Messrs A. Anderson, W. Mawkes, W. Inkpen, and C. P. Robert; auditor, Mr. W. T. Penny.
