An ex-soldier named Jaiiiu-i Ryan, living at CHiertsey, was charged with attempting to murder Algernon Worger, of the Otago Regiment, while the latter was in hospital at. Oatlaiids Park, having lost a leg. Worger appeared in the [court with his neck in bandages. He i gave evidence that Ryan attacked liim witht a table knife. Ryan, when ar'rested, said Worger stole his wife and' i&ur babies, and only Worger was aware of his wife's whereabouts. The hearing ilwas adjourned.—Aus.. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
