Received June 18, 9 p.m. London, June 17. At the Olympia boxing match Beckett scored many.short jabs to face and oudv m the first round. The referree cautioned Goddard for clinching. Beckett began the second roundin hurricane style, scoring heavily, and Goddard went down for nme seconds. On resuming he was unable to withstand Beckett's onslaughts, and a swift left to chin, a right, ended the fight. Townley severely punished Hardwick, Whose seconds threw in the towel in.'the twelfth round.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable' Association.
