ANOTHER GERMAN MINE.
WASHED UP NEAR OAKUBJJ*
Advice was received by the New Plymouth, police, and also by the local Customs Officer, yesterday morning that another mine had been washed up along the coast, this time on the beach right opposite Oakura. The mine was discovered in the surf by Mr, John who wa« on the beach with a horse and conveyance. He secured some of his harness to the mine, and succeeded in dragging it up on to the sandy beach between the rocks, On receipt of the news in town Mr. R. B. D. Eyre, Customs Collector, and Constable Nolan proceeded to the locality and further secured the mine, which is said to be of the same type as that which was destroyed on the Oaonui beach about last Christmas, The Naval Adviser has been informed of the occurrence, and in the meantime a guard, under Mr. Kendall, has been placed over the mine.
