There wag a remarkable revival of prewar splendour at the Ascot meeting. The weather was beautiful, and there was a dazzling display of fashion, but a complete absence of khaki in the Royal enclosure. The record crowd accorded their Majesties a tremendous ovation.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
