HOCKEY.
HIGH SCHOOL A (4) v. OLD GIRLS (0), The first of the hockey competition matches took place ,on Saturday at the racecourse, New Plymouth, when the above teams met. For an opening match the play was sood. School proved too strong for the Old Girls, who went down by 4 goals to nil, For tbe winners K Ballantyne shot all the goals. Mr. Hamlin controlled the game. HIGH SCHOOL B V. AOTEA, The New Plymouth High School B team journeyed to Stratford on Saturday, where they met the Aotea representatives, who defeated them by 12 goals to nil.
