THE WINTER SHOW.
J * • ' * K , CLOSING DAY. Although the climatic conditions on Saturday morning were not too promising, there was a crowded attendance throughout the day and evening at the Coronation Hall on the concluding day of what must have proved the most successful winter show yet held by the Taranaki Agricultural Society. The president (Mr. J. S- Connctt), who has worked hard throughout in the interests of, the Show, received numerous congratulations on the success' achieved. The ladies' committee which undertook the catering arrangements had a very busy time, their takings, it is understood, being in advance of last year, as were also the door takings. In the evening the Citizens' Band, under the conductorship of Mr. F. W. G. McLeod, redered another fine programme of music. Mr. W. P. Okev, the Society's secretary, and his staff are tc be congratulated on the way in which that department was run, there not being one hitch throughout the whole Show. The following are the results of the competitions which were decided on Saturday night:—Raffle: Ticket No. 245, M. Gray (Devon Street, New Plymouth) 1, No. 681, Barrett Honeyfield (Moturoa) 2, No. 574, L. Flower (Gill Street, New Plymouth) 3. The live ,weight of thebullock was and the nearest tickets were W. Ambury (New Plymouth) B'o7%lbs, Arnold George (New Plymouth) 8671b5, A. C. Pegg (Korito) 866Jlbs.
