On each charge the parent was fined the maximum of 10s and costs. This boy, who is between 12 and 13 years of age, had not attended school this year 1 * and owing to this the teacher of the school he attended had removed his name from the register. The parent had been notified of this. The only reason given by the parent for not sending the hoy to school was that sending him to school just now interfered with his training in the profession he intended him to take. Should the boy not make good this year he can go hack to school next year. In ten months there have been nine charges against this parent. Owing to assisting the over-.' seer in additions at 'Fmuerty school he had not had the time to visit any schools. The attendance at the right elassei, excepting P.O. boys, was fair.
