THE RAILWAY 'DISPUTE,
GOOD PROSPECTS OF SETTLEMENT.
£y Telegraph.—Pre3s Assn.—Copyright. Wellington, Last Night. The conference of locomotive men's representatives and the Minister for Railways sat to-day and will continue to-morrow. It is understood there are good prospects of a- settlement of all the differences between the association and the department.
GREEN ISLAND STRIKE OVER. Dunedin, Last Night. Another conference was held to-day between the representatives of the Green Island miners and the employers. As a result of the discussion matters regarding which the men desired further information were satisfactorily adjusted. Amended proposals were submitted to a meeting of th 6 union to-night, and were accepted, with the result that the strike is now over. Work will he resumed in the mines on Thursday morning.
